I’m Erin, an Idaho farm kid turned SoCal beach girl who works for her PTO just as much as her paycheck.
Childhood vacations to me were mostly camping and exploring the beautiful Mountain West, but I was also the kid who poured over travel books in my parents’ basement and magazines at my grandma’s house. As an adult, I started creating travel itineraries, even if I wasn’t sure the trip would actually happen!
I always knew I would be a traveler one day. Predictably though, I grew up, went to college, and got a job in healthcare. While I sincerely value the work I do in the medical field, travel has always been my escape and passion.
One of the biggest reasons I got into travel, though, was because of the profound effect I found it had on my mental health. That excitement of booking my flight, planning my week, educating myself on the history of the location, learning some phrases in another language…all of this helped with my burnout, low confidence, and depression-prone mind; not to mention the euphoria of a trip lasted long after I got home.
“The world is not boring and there are no ordinary people.”
Travel made this my mantra and I live by it.
I’m still a small town girl at heart and my family’s farm is my favorite place on this planet, but travel has opened me up to the amazing world out there and the people who live in it.
However, if you’re like me, you can’t always take off at a moment’s notice or afford the luxurious lifestyles you see on social media. I’m here to help make sure that you make your time off count and help you decide what’s worth the splurge and what’s not!
I don’t like to sugarcoat all my trips, so be prepared for the good, the bad and the freakin’ amazing. This is not Instagram perfect over here. This is the imperfectly beautiful lifestyle!
