“Earnestly Erin” sounds a little weird at first read, I’ll admit. I spent a good 20 minutes trying to think of a title for this blog, because I recently watched Girlboss (which is about the creation of NastyGal) and now know that a blog’s title is everything.

So what does it mean to be earnestly myself, anyway?

1. serious in intention, purpose, or effort; sincerely zealous
2. showing depth and sincerity of feeling

Basically, I’ve decided to start adulting. I know, I know: at 21 22 I’m a bit of a late bloomer in the whole taking-responsibility-and-getting-my-life-together ordeal. But this, for me, is about much more than just taking care of the external aspects of my life. I want to start living with intention, with purpose, and with maximum effort. Those who know me know that I lean toward the couch potato side of the efficiency scale when it comes to anything that does not entertain me.

The purpose of this blog is to force myself to do just that: explore, eat, enjoy, entertain. Anything I post will be posted sincerely; I only give honest reviews, even after having received items free for testing purposes.

Now, a little about me:

I’m twenty-fun two years old but I’m secretly becoming a grandma. I love to stay in and watch shows and movies on Netflix with my boyfriend and our two  THREE  FOUR kittens, and I LOVE to eat. I’m a travel junkie and have been since I first traveled outside the U.S. at age 12. I speak a little Russian but am definitely rusty, I once played the viola as well as softball, soccer, and volleyball, and my childhood dream was to be good at everything – clearly my ambition has deep roots.

I’m a UCSD and AEPhi alumna and am extremely proud to represent both. If you have any questions about sorority recruitment or Greek Life at UCSD, feel free to contact me!

Edited to add that I am now a teacher! I teach mainly first and second grade, but I also teach fifth and middle school history. I’m living in Michigan, and loving every moment.
